Le regard d’un homme

Why there aren’t any women in Les Chaussons de la Belle’s photographs, or one as an icon of the collection? Because every woman can be their protagonist: the allure of a forest goddess and the sophisticated grace of a mesmerizing feline, she is a fascinating rebel who follows, in every choice, only her flamboyant personality and desires. Her elegance is unique.

But a man’s glance on her was interesting… Her reflection in the eyes of a man. That’s why it is a man who gives his image to Les Chaussons de la Belle. He may be an English lord, a medieval warrior, a corsair sailing to the widest horizons, a surfeur de siècles with limpid eyes and the elegant, fierce poise of a modern Gattopardo. He is an intelligent, strong, tender man.

The story is about a man and a woman in love, photographed in black and white, at home.

She is not in front of the camera, but she is there with him, her hypnotic scent wafting like white flowers from a secret garden.

There is a first night scene. They are back from the opera, an enchanted candlelit dinner or a never ending ball. She has abandoned her guipure dress on an armchair, we can see some jewels, an exquisite evening bag, her black moiré shoes. She never loses her mystery …

Then the sunny images of the morning after, a delightful breakfast, eyes to eyes… The silk and lace whisper of nothing she left behind, her fairy slippers on the papers he is not reading, actually. And the smile in his eyes …
